FROM THE BURSAR’S OFFICE
. . .
IMPORTANT CHANGES
EFFECTIVE SPRING 2000!
There are important changes to the policy regarding the
returning of the 1999-00 Award Acceptance Form for the Spring 2000 semester.
Students who have returned their 1999-00 Award Acceptance
form and whose estimated financial aid on their invoice does not cover their
entire bill for tuition and fees MUST make immediate payment arrangements with
the Bursar’s Office for the balance owed in order for their classes to be
held. Failure to make payment arrangements on the balance owed will result in
the students’ classes being canceled.
- Students who have returned their 1990-00 Award
Acceptance form and whose estimated financial aid on their invoice covers
their entire bill for tuition and fees will be held in their classes.
There are several important changes to the Deferment
Policy effective with the Spring 2000 semester. These changes affect
Deferments authorized through the Bursar’s Office or the Office of Financial
Aid.
- Students authorized a Deferment through the Office of
Financial Aid based on their estimated Stafford Loan eligibility must make
immediate payment arrangements with the Bursar’s Office if the amount of
their estimated Stafford Loan eligibility does not cover their entire bill
for tuition and fees. Failure to make payment arrangements on the balance
owed will result in the students’ classes being canceled.
- Students authorized a Deferment through the Bursar’s
Office are required to make payments as follows: 40% down, with the
remaining balance due in two equal payments. Note: A $25 application fee is
required in order to obtain a Deferment through the Bursar’s Office.
- The following will occur should students who were
authorized a Deferment either through the Bursar’s Office or the Office of
Financial Aid fail to make the required payment(s) by the due date(s) or
failure to complete Financial Aid requirements:
- The student will be withdrawn from classes for spring
2000 at 0% refund (based on the published refund schedule) and will owe
the balance;
- Student records will be encumbered and a $25 fee
assessed;
- The student will not be able to re-register for the
Spring 2000 semester;
- The student will not be able to register at any
Purdue University campus or receive official or unofficial academic
transcripts until the balance owed is paid in full;
- The student will not be eligible for any future
Deferments at Purdue University Calumet either through the Bursar’s
Office or the Office of Financial Aid.
- Classes added after January 24, 2000 are not eligible
to have their payment deferred and must be paid in full at the time of
registration.
