Greetings from the Director of Financial Aid and Student Accounts!

Success!  That is what we wish for you now and during the 2002-03 Academic Year.  As we continue to strive to provide you with improved services we are pleased to announce the merger of the Office of Financial Aid and the Bursar’s Office into one department:  The Office of Financial Aid and Student Accounts.  We are always looking for better and more efficient ways to simplify the enrollment process for students.  Below is a list of some of the ways we are working to empower you, the student!

  1. Monitor where you are in the 10-step financial aid process via PCStar (Purdue Calumet Student Access to Records).  Link to the “Important Messages” site from the Financial Aid menu.  In addition, use PCStar to query your grades, class schedule and personal information.  Access PCStar at http://www.calumet.purdue.edu.
  2. Pay your bill on line via PCStar (Purdue Calumet Student Access to Records).  Access PCStart at http://www.calumet.purdue.edu.
  3. Establish a payment plan on line by accessing the FACTS Payment Plan link via PCStar (Purdue Calumet Student Access to Records).  Access PCStar at http://www.calumet.purdue.edu.
  4. Receive e-mail reminders from the Office of Financial Aid and Student Accounts regarding approaching deadlines and other important reminders.  E-mail Financial Aid directly at finaid@calumet.purdue.edu or Student Accounts at bursar@calumet.purdue.edu.
  5. Investigate scholarship opportunities (locally and nationally) via our improved on-line Scholarship Search available at http://esc.calumet.purdue.edu/finaid/webschol.htm
  6. Experience a streamlined student loan process where a new Promissory Note is not required for students who have a completed Master Promissory Note for a student loan received during 2001-2002, 2000-01 or 1999-2000.
  7. Complete your Promissory Note on-line!  Beginning July 1, 2001, students required to complete a Promissory Note for their Stafford Loan will be able to complete the Promissory Note on-line by linking directly to the Direct Loan Servicing Center at the following address:  http://dlenote.ed.gov
  8. Complete all required Stafford Loan counseling on-line at the following web sites:  Entrance Counseling http://esc.calumet.purdue.edu/finaid/ecp.htm
    Exit Counseling http://esc.calumet.purdue.edu/finaid/dlexit.htm
  9. Request your PIN (Personal Identification Number) from the U.S. Department of Education (if you do not already have one) for your use in completing your Stafford Loan Promissory note on-line and for accessing your information with the U.S. Department of Education and the Direct Loan Servicing Center.  The web address for requesting your PIN is http://pin.ed.gov.
  10. Query your student loan borrowing history as it appears on the National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS) at http://nslds.ed.gov.
  11. Subscribe to a monthly on-line newsletter to receive news from Registration, Financial Aid and Student Accounts, Admissions and other Student Services departments.  Subscribe to the Student Services Mailing List at http://esc.calumet.purdue.edu.

We look forward to partnering with you in making your educational experience at Purdue University Calumet a positive and successful one!

Best Wishes!
