A. 1. Before registering for Purdue Calumet credit courses, admission to the University is required. You may visit the Enrollment Services Center, Lawshe Hall ( The Building is located on 173rd & Woodmar Avenue) Room 130 or call 219-989-2213 for more information. You can choose various entry paths into course work. Once you have been admitted, pick up your permit to register in the Enrollment Services Center. Look for your advisor's name and phone number on the permit. The assigned day is at the top right hand corner. Register on your assigned day or later. See the registration calendar and key dates information on our Important Dates Page. [ TOP ] A. 2. Students may drop a class and receive a full refund prior to the first week of classes. They must obtain an academic advisor's signature and bring the schedule revision card to the Enrollment Services Center, Lawshe Hall 130. After the first week of classes the percentage refund changes, please see the Office of Student Accounts home page regarding refunds. [ TOP ] A. 3. Students are required to complete a Change Of Degree Objective (CODO) form through the Office of the Registrar, located in the Enrollment Services Center in Lawshe Hall room 130, if they are declaring a change of major. The student must:
FOR NURSING ONLY: Fill out a Request for Consideration by the Nursing Admissions Committee form, AND WAIT TO HEAR FROM THE NURSING DEPARTMENT, after their admissions committee meets in the Spring and Fall. [ TOP ] A. 4. Classification of
a student is based upon the number of hours completed toward the intended degree. The
student's academic advisor keeps track of this classification and updates it accordingly.
The following formula is helpful in determining your student classification:
[ TOP ] A. 5. There are two types of transcripts available to students. An unofficial copy of the record is provided by any Purdue campus the student attends. Purdue Calumet students can request a copy of their unofficial transcript in the Enrollment Services Center in Lawshe Hall, room 130. Please allow 24 hours for processing. Unofficial transcripts must be picked up in person by the individual making the request. The official transcript is provided directly by the West Lafayette Campus. You can access SSINFO to request an official transcript online. Students may also request copies of their transcript by sending the following information via FAX at (765) 494-0570 or write to the following address:
All transcripts provided by the university are free of charge to the student. [ TOP ] A. 6. Grades are mailed at the end of each term to the student's home address. An official grade mailer is sent directly from the Office of the Registrar at the West Lafayette campus. The Purdue Calumet campus will provide one copy of the grade report upon request by the student. [ TOP ] A. 7. If you are requesting enrollment verification that you are a fulltime student as proof for insurance companies either medical or automobile, you must submit a request in writing to the Registrar's Office. Our verification clerk will provide a letter for whatever purpose you are requiring. You may send us an e-mail and we will quickly respond to your request. [ TOP ] A. 8. You may request a change of name or address through the Office of the Registrar. A change of name will require an official document such as a legal court document, birth certificate, or marriage license. [ TOP ] A. 9. You may request a copy of your statement of classes for any given semester from the Office of the Registrar. Please note: this information is considered confidential and protected under the Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA-1974) and will therefore not be given out to anyone without written permission from the student. You can also get you schedule of classes by logging into your PCSTAR account. [ TOP ] A. 10. The initial advisor is assigned through the Office of Admission (Undergraduate or Graduate). The advisor's name, office location and telephone will appear on the Offer of Admission mailed to your home. You may contact either the Office of Admission or the Office of the Registrar for this information. This information is updated by the Office of the Registrar as students change their program of study. [ TOP ] A. 11.
